Transform Old Into New With Suzani
There are many forms of traditional art still prevailing in modern society and many artisans who have been engaged in these arts since generations have been earning reasonably good money because their items have now been introduced to the people in urban areas as well and form the part of their home decor. One such art is the creating of Suzani in which particular patterns are drawn on cloth and embroidery is done with colourful threads. Though this art is understood to be the native to the countries of Central and East Asia the products have reached to almost every corner of the world. As the thread used in a Suzani is either cotton or silk the life of a piece is quite long. It takes many days to finish a piece and if something big is to be created it can take even months in the completion. The final product is so beautiful that if used on your old sofa or any side or centre table can transform it into a new piece.
While choosing the colours for Suzani it is made sure that only natural dyes are used and the colours are bold and fast and do not fade away because of any rough or regular usage. Though not many stages are involved in the production of a Suzani but the hard work involved in its making makes it expensive and the involvement of middlemen in the sale of the products further increase its price.
